Housing insecurity is a complex issue stemming from a variety of causes and no one magic solution. My work in this area has included a year-long project capturing homelessness for The Guardian and highlighting solutions with The Institute for Human Services.

No Man is an Island

When the world is told to shelter at home, what happens to those who have no home? When the streets of Honolulu emptied at the beginning of the pandemic, much of the homeless population was left in the dark. No Man Is An Island follows the stories of the individuals who provided care to this vulnerable population.

A Place Of Refuge

A unique encampment of over 200 houseless individuals operates as a self-governed community, led by the fearless Twinkle Borge and her eight captains. Together, they provide structure, support, and a sense of community for people the system has failed.
