Liz Barney

writer | filmmaker | educator

Hi, I’m Liz. I craft stories and experiences that deepen connections between people, place, and purpose.

My background is in filmmaking, journalism, and photography, with an emphasis on environment, culture, and overlooked voices. I’ve directed documentaries, written for various news publications, and designed story-driven campaigns for numerous brands. My most recent documentary, Island Cowgirls, streamed on PBS and was used to help facilitate conversations in legislature around land use practices. Most recently, I expanded my work to develop community rituals and events to cultivate connection through shared experience.

I help individuals, organizations, and place-based projects develop the stories and experiences that create meaningful relationships and drive impact. If you're looking for story development, help shaping a creative project, or a partner to help design community-rooted experiences, let’s chat.
